Born Diana Meyer, she was raised in Orange County, California. She began playing guitar at the age of eight and started writing songs a few years later. By the age of eighteen, she started her first band, DIANA GONE WRONG and made a record with a musician friend in Seattle with a melodic punk-pop sound.
In the mid 2000’s while playing the Southern California music scene, Meyer met another young aspiring musician who owned a warehouse in Orange County where he operated a recording studio and hosted live music events. They instantly hit it off and the collaboration between Diana and Brent Clawson was born.
In 2009 Clawson produced DIANA GONE WRONG’s angsty guitar driven self titled E.P. and also performed live shows with DieAna while off the road with his band, Bullets and Octane. Clawson experienced international success as a the co-founder and bassist for the Sony BMG/RCA band, touring with such acts as Dir En Gray, Korn, Flyleaf, Stone Sour, Deftones, Social Distortion, Eagles of Death Metal, Flogging Molly, Bullet For My Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold.
Meyer’s second EP, a six song solo project titled, DIANA MEYER, was pressed to sell at her shows and online. DieAna took a vacation from the electric guitar, writing songs on an acoustic guitar to grow and rediscover herself musically. She bought a battery powered PA system and took to the streets to test out responses in a new environment (and to pay her rent). Meyer busked on a crowded street corner in West Hollywood. People would come from all over Los Angeles and discover DieAna’s ability to not only draw in a large crowd but to also mesmerize them with her songs and her voice. DieAna became the talk of the West Hollywood scene, “what corner would she be at next?”
